There are not a lot of details yet for MW II, other than the event will be May 21-25, 2009.  The venue will be the Gaylord Texan resort in Grapevine, TX. (http://www.gaylordhotels.com/gaylordtexan/).  Grapevine is a charming small, historic, town right between Dallas and Ft Worth.  Rooms are $149/night

Track events will be held at the Texas Motor Speedway (same as ’99).  Auto-cross, oval runs, and road track are planned.  All will be included in the registration.  All levels of experience will be accommodated.

There will be a Miata given away.  Details are still in the works, but we expect it to be a one-of-a-kind Miata.

There will be 30,000 sq ft of exhibit space for vendors at the hotel, (more is available if we need it).

Registration for the event and hotel will open spring of ’08.  Attendance will be limited, but we are awaiting MNAO’s commitment to determine how many we can handle.  It will be at least 1,000 people (500 cars).  I hope to have that info nailed down following a planned meeting with them in March.  My hope is that we can double that.

Registration will be via website.  The date and time of registration will be announced at least 30 days prior.  In addition to notifying clubs, we will make the public announcement through Miatafun.net and Miata.net. 

Cost has not yet been determined, but it won’t be cheap.  I’m guessing $300-325 per person.  Mazda said that they wanted this to be the biggest and best, so…
