Where do you start, I guess at the beginning. In early 1987 I met Marna and in December we were married, in 1988 we moved to San Bernardino in our new home. In 1989 we went by a Mazda Dealer to check out the new Mazdas! A really nice car we said but it just seamed a bit to small for my long legs, Maybe a smaller steering wheel I thought but it had an air bag etc.
10 Years later, after suffering for 10 Years Mazda said lets
change the body style! Hmm I think they knew what was needed because now I
felt comfortable behind the wheel. So I went to the dealers and shopped around.
After all the Mazda dealers around home made me offers it wasn't till the last
dealer made a deal I could not resist. So I acquired my first 1999 Mazda Miata
Touring package. What a thrill, I put 500 break-in miles on it the first
weekend! I wanted to join a Miata Club and heard about SOCALM at the dealers
from a folder display. I needed a name for the car it seems - Hmm - Looking at
the speedometer I noticed it had its name right there in front of me "ODO" Greek
for long distances. Also the shape shifter from Star-Trek NG was named ODO (Top
up, Top down). So the name fitted my Twilight Blue Mica (like in space) like it
was made for it! Today ODO has 179,600 miles on the Odometer. License plate
reads "ODO4TOM" ODO has been featured in Miata magazine and MazdaSport
magazine. The blue Miata between the RX8 and RX7 on the index page, and a 2004
calendar shot.

Where is "ODO" today!

4 Years later Mazda comes out with another great color Splash
Green Mica. Not really needing another Miata we just stopped by the Mazda
Dealers to see what the whole car looks like instead of a little square in the
folders. Well it looked pretty good! So three weeks later Marna said, lets find
an automatic. After searching the web we found one and tried it out. Marna was
not to impressed after driving "ODO" so she decided to buy a stick and now we
own "EMILY" a 2003 Splash Green Mica MIA L SP. Since we had the MiataFun.net web
site we dedicated this Miata to that and bought the license plate "MIATA FN" We
fixed Emily up with a lot of the same accessories as ODO but a little change in
Exhaust, and we have had Racing Beats Intake, K&N's Intake, and now we have VF
Engineering's Intake or should I say "Supercharger" Yes Emily is a strong girl!
After entering Emily in a few car shows she has taken second prize, been in a
Japanese magazine, MazdaSports magazine (Pg 64), and in a 2004 calendar shot!

1 Year later what happens?
Poor ODO has a windshield wiper fit on the freeway! After a bit of smoke we
jumped out and disconnected the battery to prevent a fire. Now what do we do.
Don't really want to drive Emily to much she is set up for show. I know Marna
suggested (Yes she is so sweet) that I really need a "MazdaSpeed" (How can I
refuse, I don't). So we hear that Cush Mazda is giving a really good discount to
Miata Owners and we take a drive to see what they have. Red, Titanium, Red,
Titanium, Ok Red! So now we have a 2004 Velocity Red MazdaSpeed. With the jazzy
red cloth paneled seats and red stitching and all the fantastic things Mazda did
to make the perfect heavy duty car. To hurry things up we removed the style bar
from ODO and added it to "SCARLET" yes a lady with an attitude! And like "Gone
with the Wind" She really moves.
Present Day: What another Miata! Yes Marna after 19 Years of Marriage fell in love with another "Miata that is!" Not being able to support four children I mean Miata's we adopted one out - EMILY - to a new home. And Marna now has a 2007 Copper Red PRHT Grand Touring, Automatic, and as of the date of this updated information. Out of the 500 Break-in miles I got to drive it 14 of them. Does this tell you something?
