Description: Well the time has come! Steve Waid on his fire engine has put on the lights and is shining as the overall winner of the "Steak and Beans" Contest. The generosity of the two clubs, with the help of many friends, has raised a fabulous $11,000.00!
Come see the fun action as they square off in the enjoyment of a fine meal. Steve Waid with a Steak dinner with all the trimmings, nice table cloth, silverware, Fine wines, throw in a few candles maybe! Bud Martin with a paper plate of beans, a nice beer in a paper cup, plastic silverware, all served on a recent newspaper place setting!
What will they be wearing? Will someone sing? Who were the largest single contributors? Who will win the special raffle prizes? This is going to be one of those events of the Year for sure.
SOCALM will be meeting in Corona for a run to Temecula to meet up with the San Diego club at Richie's Diner on South Hwy 79. There is a movie theater and several fast food restaurants on the corner of Cajalco Road and Temescal Canyon Road, with a large parking lot where we can gather. We will wind our way to Temecula, enjoying lots of back roads, including Santa Rosa Mine Road and Sage Road. If you want to just meet us in Temecula, we will be arriving at Richie's about 2:00pm. Just make sure you are at the Richie's on the south end of town.
Steve Waid will then lead us on south via Rice Canyon, Couser Canyon, Lilac Road, West Lilac Road and Old 395. We will be arriving at Dalton's Roadhouse around 3:30pm for our celebratory dinner.
Directions: From LA, Orange, San Bernardino or Riverside Counties: Make your way to the I-15 freeway (come east on the I-210, I-10, 60 or 91). Go south to Cajalco Road, the fourth exit south of the 91 freeway. Turn left (east). You will be able to see the theater on the left (south) side of the road.
