Plans have come together and members are invited to join us for the first ever OPMC "Run to the Coast – San Diego Getaway". Our group of travelers will depart on the morning of Friday, Oct. 16th from the Circle K at Marana Rd. and I-10 (exit 236) for the drive west. After a mid-morning "pit stop" near Gila Bend we will arrive in Yuma for lunch, fuel and a stretch. Then, in the words of Lobo, it’s "back on the road again". We’ll cross into California and make our way towards our San Diego destination, the Padre Trail Inn - arriving between 4 and 5pm. After a little time to freshen up there will be a causal "happy hour" to kick off our visit to this historic, interesting, and fun City.
San Diego offers a wide variety of activities and attractions. Old Town, The Gaslight District, a light rail ride up the coast to Carlsbad, a harbor tour, the aircraft carrier Midway Museum, the world famous San Diego Zoo, Balboa Park, a walk on the beach at the historic Coronado Hotel on Coronado Island, Sea World, the San Diego Automotive Museum, a motorized "trolley" tour of the City and the list goes on.
Saturday, everyone is on their own. Sunday, you can be on your own or join in as our friends in the San Diego Miata Club hosts us on a fantastic all-day run.
If this sounds like your definition of a good time, plan to join us, "Sign Up" now and make your reservations.
