Grab your Halloween mask and join us in Death Valley. We have reservations in Beatty for a relaxing, reasonably priced get away. We will have multiple meeting spots on Friday as we drive north on Hwy-395. We will enter Death Valley National Park via the Panamint Springs.
Call and make your hotel reservations early. We have 20 rooms reserved and may not be able to get more, especially as we get closer to the date, because we will be in Beatty the same weekend as their Beatty Days celebrations. There will be car shows, parades and other small town activities.
Saturday will be a day to enjoy some of the many activities Death Valley has to offer – even for those of us who are not into off-roading or hiking. There is Scotty’s Castle (you need to see this at least once), Ubehebe Crater, Artist’s Palette Drive, Dante’s View, Zabriskie Point, and Badwater. The Borax Museum in Furnace Creek is very fascinating for all history buffs. For those who love to hike, there are even several summer trails suitable for hot weather.
Speaking of weather, expect temperatures in the upper 80’s to low 90’s during the day. At night it usually cools down to the high 60’s. However, we will definitely keep an eye on the temperatures as time gets closer because it can be much hotter.
Sunday it will be time to head home. We will try to leave early enough to make it home before the Trick-or-Treaters come calling at your front doors.
