Copperstate 1000 Vintage Car Road Rally & Car Show

A really special weekend for car nuts in Phoenix, the “Field of Dreams” Weekend takes place as part of the 18th annual Copperstate 1000 vintage car road rally. This two-day classic and exotic car showcase begins on Saturday morning, April 5 at Tempe Diablo Stadium, with a nationally sanctioned Ferrari Concorso featuring Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini and Maserati vehicles from around the country. The concorso runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. If you go you will discover who the real "car nuts" are in the Miata club. No official club event is scheduled for this day.

Sunday begins the Copperstate Rally proper, with an 8 a.m. tech inspection ("scrutineering") of all the competing cars. Car send-off begins at 10:00 a.m. We will be meeting at a spot close to the stadium on this day to drive our Miatas to the event site as a group. We will also make arrangements for a late lunch for those who choose to lunch together and talk about the beautiful vintage autos at the event. Plan to come out Saturday if you are a fan of beautiful vintage cars, and on Sunday for lunch with your Sahuaro Miata Club friends after watching the rally participants head out on their 1000-mile trek around Arizona.
