Mike is opening his car care center to us. There
will be give aways, drawings, oil filters at cost and products on display. His
shop has 3 lifts. Mike has NAPPA auto parts and hopes to have other sponsors on
hand (Undercar Speicalist and HUB Auto). Bring your purchases to install or plan
on helping others.
Take any freeway to the 55 freeway south to the 73 freeway
south. Exit McArthur. Only one way to go (to the ocean) 1.25 (ish) miles to San
Joaquin Hills Rd. (Rogers Garden on the left hand side of the road) Turn left
and go one (1) block to San Miguel and there is the station on the left.
Smell the Hot Dog Machine and you got the right place.
If any more questions on directions, Call any Day during normal hours and ask
for mike the mechanic and DON'T HANG UP ! ! ! ! Some times I'm running for the
phone (or cover--whatever).

Excellent Questions "What's
available:
1) the oil filters I personally use are the NAPPA brand (Gold) as they exceed
the o.e.m. requirements, by far.
2) the brake pads can be :
a) Dealer, just let me know how many members want dealer
brand
b) NAPPA brand, "carbon metallic or organic, how many
sets
c) One Stop brand, Bendix, House brand (economy), again how
many sets.
It all depends on the driving habits and road conditions prevailing, uphill,
Strongly uphill, flat land, fat starts with quick stops, or prolonged stopping.
All will be available on Tech Day.
So, this is what's scheduled so
far.....
1) only time and room for one timing belt (possible water pump too) job
a) one member from Thousand Oaks possibly grabbed that bay
2) as many brake repairs as the day can take (two bays)
3) every one should get their oil and filter(s) changed with the help expected
to be there (one bay)
4) EVERYONE gets there throttle body cleaned and adjusted (outside
area)
5) for those interested in the BAR-31 test track on the dyno--Watch Out ! ! !
a) this gives live reporting on engine performance through a
variety of driving conditions and receive a report at the end of your engine
performance and emissions too...
Trust me, not only fun, hard, and accurate...but sometimes VERY funny
"The
fine Print":
AFTER
A SHORT SAFETY MEETING for all attendees
BEFORE ANY work begins.....Every one that
participates WILL sign a disclaimer to the effect that:
a) no member shall hold my
shop liable ect...
b) you use it, you break it,
you just bought it, (and yes you CAN use my tools)
after all IT IS my day off.
c) all participants will have
to be covered by their own (or Club) insurance in case of accident / injury ect...
d) Lifts ARE available to
those who would like to use them
e) There will be Trained
Members of my crew to assist Members when need (or wanted)
Each and every Member that chooses to will either
1) Bring their own parts
2) Purchase "AT
COST" Any FILTERS that are needing to be replaced (air, fuel, oil and the
actual oil)
This day has been set aside for maintenance and light repair only, hence
the request from the members to let me know WHAT they would like to do, and if
time allows, do it. (within reason)
Any additional repairs to be done are up to the individual Members as to where
they acquire the parts. I am attempting to have brake pads, also "at
cost" I will have available many parts..."WHOLESALE" to the Club
Members. I will have available many
vendors who will offer their parts either at Wholesale or at substantially
reduced cost. They (the vendor)
will be there to attempt to "sway you" to buy their parts that day and
from that day on...They ARE vendors.
Now,
How much am I going to charge for any and all labor $00.00 up to $00.00
If their is something "out of the ordinary" and is agreed upon by both
parties, that's another thing.
